Profiling and identifying metabolites are key steps in supporting drug discovery and development of novel compounds. The information gained from these studies can be applied throughout the discovery and development process.
Careful design of metabolite profiling studies using the most appropriate in vitro and/or in vivo models and state of the art mass spectrometers is essential. Applications range from soft spot identification to influence ongoing structure activity relationship to definitive studies supporting clinical development.
