Blood collection techniques (DART, small model)
When conducting developmental and reproductive toxicology (DART) studies in small animals, blood collection can be performed on adult females and neonates at various ages and routes on rats, mice and rabbits.
- 老鼠s - via cardiac puncture from postnatal day 1 through 21 and jugular or sublingual thereafter
- Mice - axillary blood collections beginning on postnatal day 1 through 4 followed by cardiac puncture from postnatal day 7 through 21
- Rabbits - beginning postnatal day 1
- Fetal blood collections can be conducted on rats and rabbits to assess placental transfer
